When asked, Dr. Eli said:
“I believe we all just find ourselves here with brains we didn’t choose, bodies we didn’t choose, social locations and families of origin we didn’t choose, dealing with problems that are not of our design. I believe we are all doing the best we can under these circumstances and that your difficulties are not your fault. I also believe that if you want something different for future You, it is your responsibility to make those changes. I want to connect with my clients and support them in whatever way is most effective and comfortable for them. There is no right or wrong, just workable and unworkable.
It is always an honour and privilege to be let in to the world of my clients and I always provide the best and most responsible caring I can offer”.
Dr. Eli has held several senior leadership positions for mental health services both provincially, nationally, and internationally. He is a trainer in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. He also teaches doctoral-level psychology students and provides clinical supervision and training to psychologists and psychotherapists. He uses ACT, CFT, and techniques from CBT and EFT to help his clients identify where they are stuck, identify what they want to do about it, and support them in making those changes at a pace that meets their needs.
